About

Bogusław Witek

Linux administrator from Poznań. I have been into servers since childhood – I set up my first one in 2013. I have worked in IT since 2022, and in my spare time I run my own production Kubernetes cluster.

The path so far

  1. 2013

    My first Minecraft server

I was about ten at the time. That server is where it all started.

  2. 2016

    My own Minecraft server network

With a forum, TeamSpeak and a shop that paid for its upkeep.

  3. 2017

    The Playergency bot and website

Playergency (formerly eRPe) is a gaming community on Discord, active since 2016. I have been building its bot and website since 2017.

  4. 2018–2022

    Technical school, IT technician

Vocational exams and the Matura (secondary school leaving exam).

  5. 2022–2025

    IT for about 150 workstations

User support, maintaining workstations without an Active Directory domain, central antivirus managed from a Linux server. On a small budget I looked for open-source solutions – among other things, I brought an old, unused server back to life with Proxmox.

  6. 2025–2026

Administering about 1000 workstations in two locations

A Windows Server domain with Group Policy (GPO), a standard system image for several hundred new devices, a custom intranet on a Linux server.

  7. 2026

    My own production Kubernetes cluster

From zero to two clusters: GitOps, monitoring, CI and services with real users. PixelArena is a return to my gaming roots, this time built professionally.

  8. Now

Looking for work as a Linux / DevOps / Platform Engineer

Remote or on site in Poznań.

How I work and what I look for

  • I start a collaboration by clearly agreeing the scope and terms.
  • I say plainly what works and what does not – my own mistakes included. Example: Cilium
  • I work best where infrastructure and quality come first.
  • I am looking for a team where I can keep growing, not just fight fires.
  • Before I change anything in production I write the plan down, and afterwards I update the documentation.
  • I work with AI agents: I delegate, verify and take responsibility for what reaches production. I automate as much as I can without lowering the security bar.
  • I use Linux every day (Omarchy today) and run my own server at home on IncusOS, with Home Assistant.
